From the recent Microsoft Build developer conference, CEO Satya Nadella unveiled the company’s grand vision of “conversation as a platform” — making bots that understand natural language the next big way to use computers.
Nadella explained that this vision for the future of computing revolves around three principal actors: humans, digital assistants, and bots.
In a recent article from IBM, they saw leading companies in every industry are reimagining their business in code, and they are managing APIs as products and core business assets rather than IT projects.
Putting the two together, the new UI could be a chat interface that calls out the pre-canned functionality exposed via an API.
They danger in this is the “chaining up” of code and reliance on code sources not in your own code libraries.
